Autumn term 2

Dear parents,

I can’t believe this year has gone so quickly and we are now on the countdown to Christmas!!  We are going to have a fun term with our theme being Celebrations.

The children will be taking part in various activities to celebrate Bonfire night, Remembrance Day, Diwali, Children in Need and Christmas.

Jacob Jenkins choking tragedy

Following the recent tragedy were Jacob Jenkins choked on a grape in Pizza Hut can I please urge all of you to ensure that if you are sending grapes in your children’s lunch boxes that you cut them up length ways in order to prevent any accidents.

We have been asked by the Healthy and Sustainable Pre-School team to alert your attention to the information provided by the Child Accident Prevention Trust, this information can be found at http://www.capt.org.uk

Feedback questionnaires

Thank you to everyone who have already returned their questionnaires and for the lovely comments and positive feedback. If you have not already returned your questionnaire then please can you do so as soon as possible.  If you have misplaced the questionnaire that we gave you please let us know and we will give you another one.

Operation Christmas Child

Just a reminder that we need to have all filled shoe boxes back into nursery by Friday 13th November.  If you need any labels to stick on to them then please just ask as we have lots here.

Children in Need

Friday 13th November – This year to raise money for Children in Need we will be having a pyjama day, please bring your child to nursery dressed in their pyjama’s and bring a £1 donation.

Miss Sheilagh is kindly going to make us some of her yummy cakes so that we can hold a cake sale on Thursday 12th and Friday 13th.  We will be selling the cakes 3 for £1.

Facebook

We have now set up our Facebook page it would be great if you could like and share it and also write a review.

Mobile phone

We now have a mobile phone, our number is 07874671299.  If you need to get a message to us that is not urgent then we are happy to receive text messages.

Open afternoon

On November 25th we will be holding an open afternoon 1pm-5:30pm to promote the nursery.  If you know anybody who would like to come and visit us then please tell them about. Everyone is welcome.

Children’s records

Please can you make sure that all of the records that we hold for your child are up to date, if you have moved address or changed your home or work phone numbers please remember to inform us.

Mud kitchen

Can I please remind you all that your children will be playing in the mud kitchen and that you need to make sure that they are wearing clothes that you do not mind them getting muddy and dirty.  It would be a good idea to leave a named pair of wellies here for your child to wear as we go out to play in all weathers.  If your child does not have a pair of wellies in nursery we would do our best to find a pair that fits them, however, this is not always possible. Therefore your child could end up playing in the mud in whatever shoes they have worn to nursery.

Christmas

Can I please remind you all that our last day in nursery is Wednesday 23rd December and we return to nursery on Monday 4th January.

As always if you have any queries about anything then please do not hesitate to ask.
